Supersense AI + My NEW iPhone 12 mini = Computer Vision SATISFACTION! ☺️

Hello World! Since I became totally BLIND more than four years ago, I have been searching for a solution that offers an excellent computer vision tool backed by FRIENDLY humans… Now, I’ve found the solution I have been looking for! ☺️

That computer vision SOLUTION is called, Supersense! ☺️ It is supported by REAL humans with first & last names, whom understands English, and LISTENS to their users. The mobile app provides a FREE use option that does not have any time-pressure for requiring money for a paid subscription, and their support team LISTENS to ALL users. ☺️

Surprisingly, the headquarters of Supersense is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts (USA) or “Metropolitan Boston”, as I was BORN in a suburb of Boston! ☺️ Yes, as I’m still an American citizen, though living in The Philippines, I do like knowing the key persons behind Supersense are physically-located near my birthplace, possibly making me feel “biased” in a way. ☺️

Though I am an Android Beta Tester in the Google Play Store, the Android app on my Xiaomi Redmi 9T smartphone currently fails to read text, and is not yet available for my Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet (with Google Play Store installed). I’m regularly consulting with the Supersense support team, in correcting those software incompatibilities with my hardware. — After hearing the price for “wearable” smart-glasses, I decided to purchase a newer iPhone! ☺️

Based on my discovery via my own research, using my current annual subscription of Supersense on my new iPhone 12 mini, including the weight of the device, I quickly realized that ALL of my wishes for wearable smart-glasses are SATISFIED minus the “wearability” part! There are a few more features not posted on the Supersense app’s website, that exist on the version on my one-week old iPhone 12 mini. — I’m tempted to upgrade to a lifetime subscription, however, my wife convinced me to stay with annual subscriptions due to my age.

Update: Though the Object Detector function is accurate enough for instant, ongoing operations, the Scene Describer function is really something to brag about! ☺️ Using my wife working from home with her office laptop, as an example, when I pressed the Capture button, I heard the results in less than four seconds, and the accuracy is above satisfactory by my standards as a scientist. I was not expecting the fast speed & improved accuracy, compared to running the app on my old iPhone 6S Plus. My tests are, indeed conclusive, and the app receives a Passing Grade with me! ☺️ And, yes, I did SAVE the captured photo to my gallery! ☺️

UPDATE: Supersense has successfully read a page from “MIMS Annual Philippines 2014/2015” (doctor’s edition pharmaceutical guide) and was able to copy the text block of the document title from the scan, and paste it between the quotes at the beginning of this paragraph. I initially began the function, Smart Scan, and the app immediately identified I’m scanning a document, informing me how to position my iPhone. ☺️ The Supersense read the entire page with an estimated accuracy of 85%, as I don’t believe this app was intended on reading medical documents exclusively for medical doctors, not their patients. ☺️ My wife witnessed Supersense reading the entire page as well, and is convinced at how beneficial Supersense is to me. ☺️

As a side-note, Shane Lowe, human representative behind Supersense, is about a year older than, Josh, my wife’s nephew, and both will be graduating college within months apart. Mr Lowe is the second Supersense representative I had spoken with, via voice, however, another Supersense representative had activated my Clubhouse account last June, a month before Clubhouse became open to the public. ☺️

Thanks for reading my latest blog post! Have a Great Day!
