My Hybrid Vegan-Vegetarian Breakfast: Two Hash Brown Cheeseburgers ☺️

Hello World! Greetings from The Philippines! As a natural-born American citizen whom was born & raised in the USA, I have now reinvented my favorite food into a much healthier option! ☺️

Imagine, for 44 straight years, from 1977 (in Seattle) to 2021 (in Philippines), I had consumed PLAIN, red meat (beef) burgers with cheese and deep-fried potatoes AKA “French fries”, from Burger King, McDonald’s & Wendy’s! And, I consumed them WITHOUT VEGETABLES nor any other condiments, except black pepper, and later in life, powdered cinnamon! — In the year 2000, I was a 400lbs FATSO in Seattle!

Then, last year, I decided to try Pizza Hut’s Veggie Lover’s pizza, to take advantage of my sight-loss & taste-buds not tasting much these days, and then, I noticed, I am actually enjoying it! ☺️ Next, I upgraded to Yellow Cab Pizza Company’s Garden Delight pizza, also noticing, I can ENJOY consuming it as well! ☺️ And then, I begin having my wife & her sister look for VEGAN food products in the local grocery stores that they shop at. They found frozen vegan burger patties, meatballs, sausages & chicken nuggets! ☺️ However, they are not able to locate vegan cheese, and the only known retail store that sells vegan cheese, is always, “sold out”.

Recently, I requested to replace bread burger buns with hash browns, baked in toaster oven (or “oven toaster”) to “crispy”, allowing the included oil to drain onto the pan. Until I have the vegan equivalent, I have dairy cheese on both sides of vegan burger patty to hold the hash browns together, so as to prevent falling apart when I consume the sandwich.

As always, my wife and/or her sister (my sister-in-law) cooks & prepare my meals for me, mostly because I’m totally BLIND with osteoarthritis, and I don’t trust myself using LPG (liquid petroleum gas) without my eyesight! (My family & I reside in a rented home, composed of mostly WOOD!) Though, when I had eyesight, my mother-in-law strongly-preferred to use the LPG coooking equipment.

For the food science part of this blog post… Breakfast should be the biggest meal of the day, as commonly-spoken by medical doctors and nutritionists. Since I’m presently out of my favorite snack (dry-roasted peanuts), I have two hash brown cheeseburgers, instead of one. My second meal is often a pita-wrapped roll sandwich consisting of grilled chicken strips and raw vegetables. After that, my next meal happens the very next day. My only drink is unsweetened, freshly-brewed, cold green tea with ginger root, brewed by members of my family. — As a result, I am experiencing many HEALTH BENEFITS, such as normalized digestion, reduced anxiety with more fatigue (helps me SLEEP more!), improved cognition, and a few more! ☺️

Surprisingly, I am taking advantage of the salt content in vegan food products, as my health condition of hypotension (or abnormally-low blood pressure) is being treated without a medical doctor! My chronic nerve pain in my feet & hands has been successfully-minimized! Though I am not thirsty from salt content, I remind myself to gulp my ginger green tea between each bite! ☺️ Since green tea attacks glucose and ginger reduces nerve pain, vegan food became a SOLUTION to me! ☺️

Update (May 27, 2022): Now experiencing severe fatigue which has restored my nocturnal lifestyle.
On Monday & Tuesday of this past week, my only food consumption for 56 hours were two hash brown cheeseburgers for breakfast, two days in a row without consuming any other food product. At 50+ years old, I’m not used to sleeping up to 12 hours daily! The last time I achieved that, was 30 years ago! ☺️

Update (June 9, 2022): On May 30, I discontinued having two hash brown cheeseburgers for breakfast, due to experiencing extreme fatigue + dehydration.
Beginning on June 8, for breakfast, I’m now consuming a single cheeseburger composed of one vegan burger patty, dairy cheese and local bread (this morning was with wheat bread). I have discontinued consuming hash browns at this time.
